Sailwave (Digital Scoring System)

1/3/2020

Dear Race Officers

The Sailwave digital scoring system is the preferred method for results scoring/recording at Chanonry Sailing Club. Using it will save some work for the Sailing Secretary and their helpers. Instructions are available beside the computer.

The main benefits of using Sailwave are:
  1. Results, recorded in Sailwave, will be published online without major delay depending on the workload of webmaster(s) at the time.
  2. Calculations will be much more reliable and can be checked easily.
  3. Duty points can be easily managed.
  4. Series discards and outcomes will be very much more reliably calculated.

Sailwave series files are set up for you as are the current RYA PY numbers / handicaps.

All you need is to record the following data as the races proceed on the Recording Sheets provided in the Race Office and then enter it in Sailwave for the current series/event:
  1. Date,
  2. Start time,
  3. Helm/Crew name(s),
  4. Boat Class,
  5. Sail number,
  6. Number of Laps; and
  7. Finish Time.

If you are not familiar with Sailwave, please ask competitors for help.

Thank you.

Richard Evans
Sailing Secretary
