What club dinghy should I use?

RS Teras (6) - The Teras are an ideal single-hander for juniors and even small and light adults. The soft sport sail can be reefed and there is also an option of the mylar race sail for faster sailing.

Topaz Uno + and Topaz Uno Race (6) - can be sailed as either a single-hander or a double-hander with a small jib. They suit most adults or a parent & child or 2 juniors together. We also have 2 mylar sails for those wanting to go a bit faster and the Topaz with the mylar sail is suitable for club racing.

RS Quest (1) - The Quest provides a wide range of uses. They are great for teaching and can take several adults plus an instructor in the boat. They can be used by families and are well suited to day-sailing trips. In addition, they offer a trapeze and asymmetric spinnaker which allows us to help sailors of all ages progress to more advanced skills. RS Quests are easier to rig and to launch, providing more time on the water for our members.

Wanderer (1) - is a traditional design and can take up to 3 adults in reasonable comfort and requires less 'athleticism' than the Topaz. The Wanderer takes a bit longer to rig than the other boats and you need to understand topping lifts and reefing pennants to sail the boat (ask an instructor). However, they can be reefed easily on the water and heave-to well when you want a break.
