After ten months of hard work and dedication from a committed group of club members, Chanonry Maid slipped into the the cool waters of the firth for the first time today. Although this was an informal sea trial, both junior and adult club members thoroughly enjoyed the experience of rowing this finely crafted and elegant vessel.
The official launch of Chanonry Maid will take place on the 26th of October at 12pm. Our friends in Ardersier and Avoch will be there with skiffs 'Esther' and 'Zulu' to cheer us on and we hope that you can be there too. All club members are invited to come along and 'have a go'. A full programme of competitive and recreational rowing will be available soon.
Special recognition should go to Donnie McLeod and Steve Bramwell who, through their dedication and commitment, have seen the skiff project through to it's wonderful conclusion. The title of ' Skiff Master Builder' however, must go to the very talented Mike Wilson (snr) who has been so very patient and generous with his knowledge and instruction.
All club members are warmly invited to join us on the construction of the next skiff 'Silver Darling'.
