The committee is preparing an extensive programme for 2013 of dinghy and cruiser racing with several twists on previous series including changes to start timings and offering debriefing sessions over “tea and biscuits” for participants and safety crews while waiting for race results to be calculated. There will also be a comprehensive mix of shore- and water-based training courses available. In addition to the popular and now traditional “Grenville’s Cruise” for yachts and dinghies, we are planning other cruises-in-company and recruiting dinghy sailors as crew for some of the yachts participating in races both at Chanonry and elsewhere in the Moray Firth. There will also be a number of social events some tied to specific races others standalone. And after shuffling the dinghies and tenders around in the dinghy park we have come up with a layout that will allow more boats to be stored with improved access.
The prime method of publishing information on all the activities and changes mentioned above will be the club website (currently being updated for 2013) but we also intend to issue, via dutyman, short emails drawing attention to items that may be of general interest. Information concerning only specific groups – eg, say on moorings – will continue to be emailed direct to those concerned.
Finally, the committee is always interested in feedback; please do let us know your views. Our contact details are on the club website.
