Commodore's Welcome

First I’d like to welcome new members who have recently joined Chanonry Sailing Club – I hope that you enjoy our activities on and off the water.

Our web site is designed to give an overview of the Club and its activities. It also contains a plan of events for the season with duties allocated – please check this – your name may be on it!

For everyone, there are new things happening at the Club this year - see the highlights below. You will be able to find out more details here on the Club web-site or on the various Club notice boards.

bulletThe Trots Mooring Project is due to come to fruition before mid-April crane-in. This is the largest project the Club has undertaken since the Clubhouse enlargement in the early ‘90s.
bulletThe main slipway is due to have a total of 28 metres of damaged surface cut-out and replaced before sailing gets underway.
bulletPlease note the new heaters in the changing rooms – they are the obvious part of much improved and safer wiring.
bulletThe harbour steps are undergoing emergency repairs.
bulletWe have introduced new arrangements for Friday evening sailing to improve management, supervision and safety.
bulletFor the juniors we are offering a week’s worth of formal dinghy training in July rather than over a spread of Saturdays.
bulletWe will be hosting the North of Scotland Dinghy Championships at our Regatta
(2 & 3 August).
bulletPerhaps not very exciting but nevertheless important, the committee will have a new Health & Safety Policy in place by mid-April – please read it, it does affect you!

The sailing calendar is full with dinghy, cruising, training and social events including a new fun race on 27 July in memory of Grenville Robinson. Have a good season!
